Tips to Deal With Pothole Season

Chevrolet Suggests Tips to Deal With Potholes

It is that time of year again--  the cold weather has moved out and left us with potholes!  Drive just about anywhere and you will likely experience this pesky issue.  The worst part is that it can lead to vehicle damage which can mean paying for repairs.

Chevrolet has put together some great tips for dealing with potholes.  These tips deal with efforts to avoid the potholes and dealing with the situation if you hit one.  For example:

Be on the lookout for potholes!  If you notice them early enough, you might be able to avoid them safely.  If not, early detection could give you time to slow down as you go over the pothole.  This can potentially lead to a reduced chance of severe damage.

Proper tire inflation is important so your vehicle handles potholes as well as possible.

If you happen to hit a large pothole, be sure to stop where it is safe and check your vehicle for damage.  This could help you avoid letting a small issue become a larger issue.

Always be sure you have a spare tire that is in good condition.  A jack and the tools necessary for tire changing should also be available.  These will be needed if a pothole causes a flat tire.
