2013 Chevrolet Camaro Welcomes 1LE Package

From Chevrolet.com:

The road-racing inspired Camaro 1LE performance package returns for 2013 with unique gearing, suspension tuning, and tires that makes the model capable of more than 1 g of lateral acceleration and a sub-three minute lap time at Virginia International Raceway’s Grand Course. It is offered on Camaro SS coupes with manual transmissions.

“The Camaro 1LE combines the best elements of the SS and ZL1 to take road-racing performance to a whole new level,” said Al Oppenheiser, Camaro chief engineer. “That the 1LE breaks the three-minute lap at VIR puts it in the upper echelon of performance cars. That it starts under $40,000 makes the Camaro 1LE one of the most affordable, most capable track-day cars offered by any manufacturer.”

In anticipation of consumers entering the 1LE in amateur-racing events, Chevrolet is pursuing SCCA approval of the 1LE package for Touring Class competition.

For 2013, all Camaro SS models including the 1LE will feature standard variable-effort electric power steering and an available dual-mode exhaust system. Both features were introduced on the ZL1. Additionally, 2013 Camaro LT, SS and ZL1 models are available with Chevrolet’s color touch radio with MyLink infotainment system.

Colorado Chevrolet Volt Buyers Eligible for Tax Credits

(photo from chevrolet.com)

From Chevrolet.com:
Colorado residents who purchase or lease a new Chevrolet Volt electric vehicle with extended range are eligible for a state tax credit of up to $6,000 in addition to a federal tax credit of up to $7,500 for a total price reduction of as much as $13,500.

Colorado is one of a number of states that is offering a state tax credit in addition to the federal tax credit, which is subject to the customer’s eligibility. For example, Volt customers who purchase a low-emission model of the 2012 Chevrolet Volt, which is standard in California, will qualify for a $1,500 state rebate and will be eligible to drive solo in the state’s carpool lanes. A tool to determine specific state or local electric vehicle tax credits is available here.

“This rebate in Colorado provides an extra incentive for those that want to purchase or drive an energy-efficient and technologically advanced vehicle like the Chevrolet Volt,” said Volt Marketing Director Cristi Landy. “With the available state and federal tax credits, along with the fuel savings that many owners experience by charging daily, the Volt can fit the lifestyles and budgets of many people.”

2013 Chevrolet Silverado Bi-fuel Announced

From Chevrolet.com:

Chevrolet and GMC today announced details of General Motors’ bi-fuel 2013 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra 2500 HD extended cab pickup trucks.  Fleet and retail consumers can place orders beginning this April.
The vehicles include a compressed natural gas (CNG) capable Vortec 6.0L V8 engine that seamlessly transitions between CNG and gasoline fuel systems. Combined, the trucks offer a range of more than 650 miles. The Silverado and Sierra will be available in standard and long box, with either two- or four-wheel drive.
“The bi-fuel Chevy Silverado and GMC Sierra provide customers with choices in advanced propulsion technology, and because CNG is a clean-burning, domestically produced fuel, it has wide appeal, “said Ed Peper, general manager, GM Fleet and Commercial Operations. “The addition of a full-size bi-fuel pickup truck to GM’s fleet portfolio is another milestone in putting the customer first in everything we do – by offering great products, innovative solutions and a great customer experience.”

OnStar Wins Award for 'Best Use of Technology in Customer Service'

From Chevrolet.com:

Anyone who has pressed the OnStar button and spoken to someone on the other end knows how helpful these advisors can be, but the hardware behind the button is what makes the connection possible.

For the second consecutive year, OnStar was awarded a Stevie Award, this time for “Best Use of Technology in Customer Service.” OnStar won a Stevie in 2011 for Customer Service Department of the Year in Telecommunications.

OnStar has significantly enhanced the customer’s experience in the last year. OnStar For My Vehicle (FMV) was introduced last July, enabling 100 million other drivers to add OnStar service though an aftermarket rearview mirror.

OnStar also expanded the way drivers can get directions, by adding the option to send a destination from their smartphone to their vehicle using the OnStar RemoteLink App. Also, OnStar Emergency Advisors began receiving Emergency Medical Dispatch training, so they can provide critical medical advice to victims while they wait for help to arrive on scene.
