A 2017 Chevy Silverado 1500 buyer has several engine options depending on the chosen combination of trim, box, and cab. There are three different engine options:

* 4.3L EcoTec3 V6 engine

* 5.3L EcoTec3 V8 engine

* 6.2L EcoTec3 V8 engine

The EcoTec3 engine is a powerful engine for a big towing vehicle such as the Chevy Silverado 1500. This engine has an advanced combustion system to increase power and efficiency, while seamlessly switching to four-cylinder operation under any light or medium size loads.

Each of the 2017 Chevy Silverado 1500 models comes with a standard 6-speed automatic transmission. This transmission is smooth-shifting with overdrive and electronic range select. This is very beneficial in a big towing vehicle such as the Chevy Silverado 1500.

The 2017 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 has a handling/trailering suspension package with an optional higher performance suspension package. Both allow for the Silverado 1500 to provide a better towing experience for the driver.

The 2017 Chevy Silverado 1500 is not only built for towing, but

also with safety in mind. There are standard safety features such as airbags, daytime running lamps, StabiliTrak stability control and tire pressure monitoring on all vehicle models and trims levels. However, there are also optional features such as Lane Keep Assist, Front and Rear Park Assist, and OnStar Guidance plans.
